Boca Grande II Transfer Station

2005 Cargoport Logistics, N.V. was awarded a highly prestigious contract by CVG Ferrominera Orinoco, C.A., to replace the existing iron ore Floating Storage Transfer Station «Boca Grande».
Cargoport was honored to develop and implement the construction contract for the replacement FSTS «Boca Grande II».

Development of the South American Pacific Trade Routes

1994-1999. The Company developed the South American Pacific traffic trade routes for CVG SIDOR (CVG Siderúrgica del Orinoco, C.A.) and SIDETUR (Siderúrgica del Turbio, S.A.) entering into COA’s (Contract of Affreightments) to serve the countries in the Andean Pact with a bimonthly shipping service in vessels sizes of DWT 25,000 metric tons. Today this trade route is one of the most important for SIDOR and Venezuela.

COMSIGUA Project

During 1997 Cargoport carried the project cargoes for the construction, installation and commissioning of the iron ore briquettes factory CONSIGUA on our Venezuelan Flag vessels MV Ciudad Guayana and MV Maracaibo from the port of Tampa, Florida to the port of Matanzas, Venezuela.

Guardián de Venezuela Project

1996-1999. Cargoport entered a COA with Guardián de Venezuela to transport their floating glass production in Open Tops Containers from Guanta, Venezuela to Santos Brazil; in our container vessels MV Monagas I and Monagas II, this trade was developed by «Guardián de Venezuela» to penetrate the Brazilean glass market with their products manufactured in Maturín, Venezuela. This transport service ran until Guardian do Brazil completed the construction, installation and commissioning of its own floating glass factory in Floriano, Piauí State, Brazil.

TAMSA Project

1995-2001. In 1995 Cargoport entered a Contract of Afreigthtment (COA) with Tubos de Acero de Mexico, S.A. - TAMSA - to transport its total production of seamless steel oil field pipes from its factory at Veracruz, Mexico to North Coast Port of Colombia, Venezuela and Trinidad. Cargoport provided a bimonthly service in vessels sizes ranging from DWT 10,000 to 20,000 metric tons on liner terms basis discharge in all these North Coast South American ports.
